Shangri-La -- The month of July marks the Philippine-Japanese friendship month. Two cultures found a way to commemorate it through the exchange of various art forms— one of them is the appreciation of natural stones. Several areas house the events related to the celebration take place all over the country, and one of them is EDSA Shangri-la mall. Those who are interested in international cinema may take part on the Eiga Sai film festival wherein one may be able to watch Japanese films of different genres. The suiseki portion was just one of the points of interest in the featured exhibit, “Yuujuo: A Japanese Cultural Exhibit”. It was also an opportunity for members of the Natural Stone Society of the Philippines to exhibit their prized suiseki as well as their tokonoma sets. Photo courtesy: Sonny Armamento
