WHAT IS SUISEKI?

"Even stones have a love, a love that seeks the ground." - Meister Eckhart
The Japanese word, suiseki, is defined as a single stone that has the power to suggest something in nature far greater than itself. (Matsuura, 2010).

“Suiseki, or viewing stone, is often used as the complimentary object for bonsai. Occasionally, a bonsai is used as the secondary object for a suiseki."  -John Naka
